The DTH rig with crawler tracks is also called open-pit DTH rig. DTH rigs are divided into split DTH rigs (wheeled air compressor + DTH rig) and integrated DTH rigs (with air compressor).
DTH rigs are widely used in blast hole drilling and underwater drilling, blasting and reef blasting projects in open-pit projects such as metallurgy, mining, building materials, railways, hydropower construction, national defense construction and earthwork.
The down-the-hole drill consists of an impactor (or drill bit), a rotary mechanism, a lifting mechanism, a pressurizing device, a traveling mechanism, a slag removal system, a drill frame and a drill rod. The down-the-hole drill uses a drill rod to drive the pneumatic impactor and the drill bit to rotate together, and uses the piston of the pneumatic impactor to impact the drill bit to break the ore and rock. It is usually used to drill blastholes with a diameter of 80 to 250 mm in small and medium-sized mines.
